Colours of the League
THE LEAGUE
Competitive Urban Society
League characters are asked to choose one of the four great League Cities to live in - Temeschwar, Holberg, Tassato or Sarvos, which will heavily influence your character style.
The League are based largely on the historical fashions of Renaissance Italy and the surrounding areas - think Romeo and Juliet, The Borgias, Landschneckt mercenaries. Doublets and hose, high-waisted gowns, hats with very big feathers in, and dressing for the city. The League are not country folk and their style reflects the practicalities of city life. Fabrics will be decorated, brocades and slashes, silks and velvets, and fur trims in the more northern cities.

Sarvos
You want bright, unnatural colours and ornate lightweight fabrics. Sarvos is an urban centre on the south coast and the inhabitants reflect this in their sense of style.
Think of Southern Europe - Italy and the Med.
Tassato
Tassato is north of Sarvos, and tends towards a richer, deeper palette than their southern cousins.
The city of Tassato is two cities, Regario and Maestra, overlapping with a river between them. The two halves of the city have a healthy rivalry.
Holberg
Holberg is a fortified city in the mid-east of the Empire. Fabrics are thicker - you'll see wools and heavier silks here, fur trims, and drab colours compared to the southern cities of the League. Holberg is inspired by the old European fortified cities like Prague and Cologne.
Temeschwar
Temeschwar is the northernmost League city and used to be a Varushkan settlement, and colours and fabrics will lean more towards the dark and primary colours of Varushka and heavier warm fabrics with furs and wools, but with the ornate decorations, brocades, slashings and stylings of renaissance Italy.
Not-A-Waffenrock
20/04/20
Do you know what's almost a Landschneckt style waffenrock? A women's skater style mini dress. Buy it in the biggest size you can. They come in all colours of the rainbow. Buy two in two different colours, cut holes in one, and wear them both at the same time for a slashed effect. Paint them. Chop the neckline up to be a bit more square. Put some cheap costume brooches on it. Bang, budget waffenrock.

Nightmare Rainbow Dress

Ok, no, really, bear with me here. Get your Uniqlo brown tunic dress under this, a shiteload of the gaudiest cheapest necklaces and brooches you can find, a passably medieval belt, some really tight trousers and some riding boots, and I reckon this could work as a League look.

Still Not-A-Waffenrock

It's expensive, so you probably don't want to chop it up unless you are confident with your scissors, but chuck a belt, some bling on this, a pair of nice johdpurs, and misc acessories, and you've got the makings of a very nicely tailored league silhouette. Only in red, and only really designed for those that have a bit of boob.

Puffy Sleeve Tunic/Dress
20/04/20
A brown baselayer with puffy sleeves. The lower shape isn't great for the league, who prefer tighter form-fitting shirts, but as an underlayer it could work. It's cheap enough that if you wanted to chop off the bottom foot of it and pull it in with a drawstring or something, you could, or if you wanted to wear it as a dress, stick a belt round it fairly high up to give the high-waist League silhouette. Comes in brown, black or cream.

"Meggings". Like leggings but y'know, Manly.

Don't worry about the waistband - your upper layer will hide it. A pair of comfy looking grey leggings that would be fine base layers for basically any nation, and specifically in a men's cut. I put them in my wintermark folder originally but whatever.
